Our Monsters

Last week we learned about the letter Mm and read a story called 'Go Away Big Green Monster' by Ed Emberley. I read the story to the children without showing them any pictures and they had to listen carefully to all the describing words and imagine what the monster looked like in their heads. Then we drew and painted the monsters just by listening to the adjectives.

The monster had:

• 2 big yellow eyes
• A long bluish/ greenish nose
• A big red mouth with sharp white teeth
• Scraggly purple hair
• 2 little squiggly ears
• A big, green, scary face

This week we read the book and looked at all the pictures and compared our monsters to the monster in the story. We had so much fun and think we did a fabulous job! Check out some of our monsters below and have a look at them hanging up in our classroom next time you come in.
